FRIEDRICH WEKWERT Peacefully in his sleep our father, grand-father, and great-grandfather passed away on November 15, 2002 at the Concordia Hospital. He was born on January 2, 1903 in the Ukraine and had a long and fulfilled life. He was predeceased by his wife Emma of 60 years in 1989; two sons, Waldemar and Ernst; one daughter Margaret; son-in-law Paul Koske; two grandchildren, Kary and Adele. He is survived by his daughters, Leokadia (Jakob) Gruening, Hildegard Koske and Adelgunde Jewer, all of Winnipeg; sons, Edmund of Las Vegas, USA and Siegfried of Comox, BC; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, USA and Germany. For the last 15 years he made his home at Bethania Haus. Many thanks to Dr. Doermer and the Home Care ladies at Bethania Haus. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Viewing at the chapel prior to the service.
